Features
Conventional adhesives for optical path bonding of
optical communication devices produce adverse effects such
as noise, because they have a different refractive index
from that of optical fibers or other optical devices,
resulting in reflection at bonded interface.
The refractive index of this adhesive can be adjusted
between 1.45 and 1.57 ( ) with }0.005
accuracy by altering the fluorine content, which is able to
eliminate such adverse effects. Being a single component of
low viscosity, the adhesive is mixing-free and quickly cured
at room temperature under UV irradiation, thus ensuring fast
adhesion. In addition, this bonded area is hardly affected
by heat or moisture and is highly durable. |

Applications: |
For bonding light-passing areas such as one optical fiber
to another optical fiber, or an optical fiber to an optical
device. At present, further applications optical modulation
units, PLC optical devices (splitters, couplers) are being
studied. |
